Hard seltzer has the reputation of being a “wimpy drink,” or “for lightweights,” this created the challenge to create a hard seltzer line that had an edge. This concept drove all design decisions such as the glass bottle, as opposed to a can to give it class and the black water gives it a hint of masculinity. Nothing is more tough or gnarly than a pirate lost at sea, which inspired the nautical imagery.
